MD Anderson is seeking an Outpatient Clinical Nurse for its Sugar Land location. This position will float from Medical Oncology Clinic to the ATC Clinic as necessary.

MD Anderson provides medical oncology, radiation oncology and surgical oncology services along with a range of supportive programs at all of its Greater Houston area locations. While MD Anderson – Sugar Land treats all types of cancers, the faculty has particular expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and management of the following cancers: Breast; Colorectal; Dermatology and skin; Endocrine; Genitourinary; Gynecologic; Head and neck; Neurologic; Thoracic.
Ideal candidate will have two or more years of RN experience, preferably in an oncology, outpatient setting.
$56,000 - $78,500 - $110,000
Transformational Leadership: Clinical Nurse must lead others (co-workers, patients, families, significant others) to where they need to be in order to meet the demands of their future care needs. Organizes and prioritizes work of the patient care team which include but is not limited to administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy agents, pump connects /disconnects, administration of antibiotic therapy, administration of IV fluids, rapid response to chemotherapy reactions/ emergencies, IV starts, etc.
Structural Empowerment: Clinical Nurse is empowered to problem solve in order to meet organizational and unit goals and achieve desired outcomes.
Exemplary Professional Practice: Clinical Nurse has a comprehensive understanding of the role of professional nursing in the institution that is demonstrated in the relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
New Knowledge, Innovation, and Improvements: Clinical Nurse is responsible for the integration of innovation and research based findings into daily patient care practices.
Empirical Quality Results: Clinical Nurse seeks solutions to problems inherent in our institution rather than creating work arounds.
Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program. Foreign trained nurses who have not practiced nursing as an RN in the United States for at least one year will also be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
Preferred: Certification in Oncology or specialty practice area.
Required: None. All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program. Preferred: Two to four years relevant clinical experience, preferably with experience in an oncology outpatient setting.
