Performs medication preparation and distribution in assigned area.
Provides technical assistance related to medication safety and quality assurance.
Serves as a resources in a specialized pharmacy area.
Assists in orientation and training of new employees Conducts quality audits of pharmacy functions.
Participates data collection, record keeping and quality assurance activities.
Analyzes data and prepares reports.
Participates in the ongoing review of existing pharmacy processes and standing operating procedures.
Develops and maintains employee training program and materials.
Develops, implements, and/or supports special projects.
Five years of experience as a pharmacy technician, including two years in a lead, supervisory or project management capacity. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
ACPE approved IV (sterile products) certification, if applicable, Certificate Compounding for Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT)
