In the Head and Neck Surgery department, our mission is to deliver the highest possible clinical care for patients with cancer of the head and neck. Using an interdisciplinary approach, experts from across disciplines come together to provide state-of-the-art care for patients with all types and stages of head and neck cancer.


Supervisor, Clinical Studies – Head and NeckSurgery Research

Collaborates with the Section Chief, Associate Director of Research, Clinical Research Program Leadership and faculty/PI in the planning, management and evaluation of research operations in the Section of Speech Pathology and Audiology. Develops and oversees data reporting and quality assurance activities. Manages Section’s clinical research staff and trainees in collaboration with Clinical Research Program leadership. Collaborates with PI, departmental accounting team and Clinical Research Finance to prepare and manage clinical study and grant budgets. Develops, implements and oversees data management processes and guidelines for clinical studies and Section databases. Organizes Section meetings with PI and Section research personnel to track progress toward milestones. Serves as primary liaison for multi-site clinical studies and develops processes to integrate the Section’s clinical study procedures into MD Anderson Houston Area Locations. Ensures compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines for Section’s research. Supervises, develops and oversees new strategies to effectively manage large volumes of patient data, improve processes and/or quality of data management systems. Collaborates with PI and faculty within the Section of Speech Pathology and Audiology to prepare manuscripts for peer review and scientific lectures.


Minimum: $66,800 – Midpoint: $83,500 – Maximum: $100,200


Required: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration or related scientific field.


Required: Six years of experience with research studies or direct patient care obtained from nursing, data gathering or related field to include three years in a lead or supervisory capacity. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience.
