MD Anderson Cancer Center Sr Web Developer in Houston, Texas

The Sr. Web Developer position is focused on developing solutions on the institutional web content management system. This position will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of applications. The Sr. Web Developer position works in a team environment with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design.

Application Development & Support

Develop, design, test, and deploy Adobe Experience Management Web and Mobile solutions; develop AEM templates and components leveraging current AEM software release; Develop, implement and configure web and mobile application solutions using technologies including Java, HTML, JavaScript, XML and web services; employ strong coding standards for efficiency, readability, and reuse

Customers

Coordinates, with customer and departmental management, the identification of all deliverables, sequence of all activities and tasks necessary to complete the project and ensures project meets business objectives; Works directly with customers to develop application requirements and ensure application meets business objectives.

Software Quality Testing

Designs test scripts based on requirements and understanding of industry software quality testing methods. May serve as testing lead for the team.

Innovation

Analyzes and tests emerging technologies with an understanding of the applicability to the Institution; Maintains and expands working knowledge of the technical tools available to implement solutions

Solutions Planning

Provide recommendation and options to leadership on various projects within the department, as well as analysis and solution options to technical issues.

Education Required:

Bachelor's degree.

Experience Required:

Four years of experience in systems programming with three years experience in related software programs, to include proficiency in an assembler language or comparable machine coding language, one other language, plus working knowledge of one or more additional languages. May substitute require education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred Experience:

Experience developing components, integration, and applications with Adobe Experience Manager v6.3 or higher

Experience with object-oriented design and design patterns

Experience with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript to implement front-end designs

Experience with Git or other software version control system.

Experience with RESTful and SOAP-based web services

Experience with unit testing and automated testing tools

Experience with secure coding practices

Experience with web and application servers, such as Apache and Tomcat
