MD Anderson Cancer Center Sr Systems Analyst - IT Operations in Houston, Texas
The Sr Systems Analyst is responsible for providing senior level technical production support and system administration to ensure optimum system performance and resolution of technical issues that impact the utilization of applications/systems in support of all Perioperative Services, and Anesthesia and Critical Care departments and customers. The Sr Systems Analyst provides technical expertise in defining, developing, implementing, and supporting solutions for business/clinical applications for these same departments. The Sr Systems Analyst provides subject matter expertise and training to other members of the IT Operations Frontline teams and other IT partner teams. This position also provides 24x7 on-call and other off hours activity support as needed.
Provides technical expertise, leadership and direction for support of assigned application(s). Utilizes knowledge of information technology architecture and systems integration to support design decisions.
Systems Administration and Support
Administers and maintains systems supported by IT Operations - Periop Frontline. Ensures system availability, patient data reliability, security and integrity. Provides second level support for assigned applications.
Process Surveillance and Improvement
Analyzes and revises existing system master files and configuration to meet user, regulatory, division or institutional requirements. Devises or modifies operating procedures and workflow to solve complex problems taking into consideration system capacity, limitations and availability.
Systems Documentation Maintenance
Maintains comprehensive documentation to facilitate the support of reliable information systems that fulfill customer's requirements and expectations - to include installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, security and disaster recovery documents.
Acts as Team Lead and mentors junior staff members.

CompTIA A+ Certification, Microsoft Certified Professional, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician
Five years experience in domain, analysis, design, project management, programming or Epic software. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis or completed years of college on a one to one basis.
Experience implementing and supporting custom developed applications in a healthcare environment. Experience supporting medical device integration. Experience working with compliance and risk management teams and systems.
