Lead Technician Responsibilities
Acts as Lead Tech for Stationary Engineers, Physical Plant Techs and Instrumentation Techs; schedules and coordinates contractor installation and repairs; schedules manpower for off shift work activities; provides guidance to lesser skilled craftsmen; coordinates projects and repairs with other Shop Leads.
Installation & Maintenance of Emergency Power Supply System Components
Installs, repairs and maintains electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment and systems; installs conduit, wire, cabling and devices to monitor and control various components of the Emergency Power Supply System; commission all installations to ensure reliable and continuous operation. Maintains the Fuel systems for the underground remote storage tanks.
Installation & Maintenance of Building Automation Monitoring & Controls
Install, repair and maintain BAS points as necessary to monitor and control ATS', Substation transformers, parallel switchgear, breakers and meters; as necessary trace out existing systems and provide sketch drawings and information for as-built updates.
Provide Project Support for FPDC, AFCO, PCPF and REF projects; review plans and submittals to ensure compliance with specifications and applicable codes; perform inspections on all components of the EPSS and provide comments to Project Manager; participate in commissioning and Integrated System Testing to ensure proper performance of systems. Maintains Joint Commission documentation on all generators. Prepares TCEQ documentation.
Provide support for the HVPS Electricians, Stationary Engineers and Physical Plant Techs for all BAS or controls related issues; assist in support for Utility Outages.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Eight years of electronic, building automated systems and pneumatic controls experience to include two years of electrical experience. With Journeyman Electrician's license, six years of electronic, building automated systems and pneumatic controls experience to include one year of electrical experience.
