MD Anderson Cancer Center Sr Associate Director, Development in Houston, Texas

The Senior Associate Director will serve as a critical strategic partner and advisor to the Principal Gifts Team, conducting deep prospect intelligence and prioritization of prospects to develop the road map for transformational cultivation and solicitation opportunities. This position will also partner with gift officers and leadership across the Development Division to impact the realization of transformational gifts in support of a comprehensive campaign. The position will be responsible for partnering with the analytics team to facilitate the streamlining of reporting tools to ensure seamless integration of principal gift portfolio management strategies, supporting the optimization of the existing principal gift prospect base, and proactively seeking alignment for new principal gift opportunities in the broader market. The ideal candidate possesses drive, excellence, an eye for detail, and an ability to think creatively. Importantly, this candidate must have an innate sense of curiosity while recognizing connections between and among pieces of information. This candidate would have proven success in managing multiple projects with competing and/or shifting priorities while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Additionally, this candidate would have previous business intelligence practice and experience for fundraising campaigns and/or principal gift programs.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  1. Manages the principal gifts prospect pool, including Identification, evaluation and recommendation of current and potential principal gift prospects.

  2. Conducts high-quality and in-depth prospect intelligence and analysis of biographical, philanthropic, professional and financial information.

  3. Partners with analytics team to streamline reporting tools to ensure seamless integration of principal gift portfolio management strategies

  4. Manages the alignment of the principal gift prospect pool to campaign priorities.

  5. Provides actionable intelligence throughout all stages to assist in moving prospects through the pipeline.

  6. Works closely with principal gifts program manager to manage principal level portfolios and conducts regular prospect reviews.

  7. Assists with information tracking in CRM and reporting activities related to prospect pool, initiates and programmatic success.

  8. Proactively seeks alignment for new principal gift opportunities in the broader market.

  9. Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with leadership, gift officers and other key stakeholders. This position works closely with the Executive Director of Principal Gifts to realize fundraising goals and programmatic objectives.

  10. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required: Seven years experience in private fund development, marketing, advertising, public/client relations or closely related field and two years of supervisory or managerial experience. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.

Preferred: Previous business intelligence practice and experience with fundraising campaigns and/or principal gift programs
