The mission of The University of Texas M. D. The primary purpose of the Data System Coordinator is to monitor Technology Commercialization Intellectual Property Management database. Key responsibilities are to update database with information as it becomes available, correct/modify inaccurate files and records, obtain, view and verify confidential information, handle numerical data accurately, verifying data by correctly checking and comparing source documents.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Update Intellectual Property Management database: Gather documents and information. Update database with information as it becomes available. Correct/modify inaccurate files and records.
Manage confidential information: Engage with stakeholders to request and/or provide confidential information. View and verify confidential information for correctness and completeness. Handle confidential information per the Institution policies.
Handle data accurately: Handle numerical data accurately, verifying data by correctly checking and comparing source documents. Communicate any discrepancies with the parties involved and take steps to correct them in a timely manner.
Information Systems: Support Manages department interaction with Information Systems, databases, and subscriptions; improves the department's effectiveness and efficiency with respect to computers, servers, and network systems.
Be able to work independently with large amounts of numerical and written data. Create and organize accurate spreadsheets with large amount of information. Summarize and compile data for standardized reports.
Required : High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred : Bachelor's degree.
Required : High school diploma or equivalent. One year data entry and/or verifier experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
Preferred : Three years experience in preparation of statistical packages, text and document processing. Previous work or experience dealing with contract documents and specialized knowledge of technology transfer transactions. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly of Excel spreadsheets.
