The Sr Computational Scientist designs and develops the computational infrastructure for advanced research and development in numerical analysis, mathematical modeling and data processing techniques.
The individual will work under the supervision of the principal investigator or his designate on experiments focusing on the development of effective cancer treatments.
•Perform integrated data analysis including downstream/functional analysis and interpretation of genome-wide/customized shRNA and CRISPR screening, RNA sequencing, microarray and other experimental data in the setting of cancer clinics.
•Proactively develop, apply, and provide bioinformatics software and computational tools
•Collecting of various types of public data, eg. TCGA and CCLE, as additional evidence for better data interpretation.
•Work closely with clinical scientists to understand data processing challenges and provide custom solutions for sequencing, gene expression, pathway, DNA copy number, genomic and proteomic data to expedite scientific publications
•Independently analyze data, evaluate results, and effectively present the result to project leaders
•Consistently develop and customize software applications according to project specific needs in the context of cancer therapy
•Prepare publications and scientific reports

•Collects and organizes information for project reports. Other duties as assigned.
•Must possess the ability to be clearly understood by verbal communication in face-to-face encounters and by telephone, read printed and written data, assimilate pertinent information in order to communicate in written correspondence. Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing. Must be able to understand verbal and written directions. Must be able to respond and assist other employees and visitors, as required.
Required: Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Science, Engineering or related field.
Required: Nine years experience in scientific software programming with a concentration in scientific computing. With preferred degree seven years of experience required.
