MD Anderson Cancer Center Respiratory Care Equipment Technician - (3pm-11pm) in Houston, Texas

MD Anderson is seeking a Respiratory Care Equipment Technician in its Respiratory Care department. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of healthcare experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer candidates with supply inventory and record keeping experience.

Shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm with rotating weekends and holidays

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Equipment Technician position is to prepare respiratory care equipment and supplies for daily use by decontamination, and maintenance of disposable and non-disposable equipment and supplies for patient care use in outpatient, inpatient and intensive care areas; also anticipating fluctuations in patient census and inventory needs to ensure adequate patient care supplies at all times.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Inventory and Recordkeeping : Stocks workroom, satellite supply and intensive care areas. Maintains par levels and communicates supply needs to manager.

Respiratory Care Equipment Maintenance : Cleans and reassembles Respiratory Care equipment; decontaminates, clean, and prepares reusable equipment for sterilization after each patient use.

Patient Care Supply Distribution : Distributes and tracks non-disposable equipment to Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP's). Ensures all equipment is stored properly and returned to area when not in use.

EDUCATION

Required: None

Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

Required: One year of healthcare experience.

Preferred: One year of healthcare experience; to include supply inventory and record keeping
