Plans, organizes, coordinates and participates in brain tumor research projects. With the principal investigator of the research program, determines specific goals and objectives to be obtained, evaluates research data and develops and revises approaches to scientific problems and questions.
Functions in a separate and independent manner in the design and initiation of research experiments focusing on complex biostatistical analysis of multi-omic and clinical data, and development of unique multi-dimensional databases. The Research Scientist will also work with other members of the Brain Tumor Center to create bioinformatic approaches to address significant research questions.
Formulates and prepares novel grants to obtain funding for research projects, focusing in particular on novel methods of data analysis that leads to new insights. Takes a lead role in writing, preparing and submitting NIH and CPRIT grants, or grants to all other funding agencies. Contributes bioinformatic and statistical analyses of all data coming from the lab.
Presents findings of research projects to professional groups and prepares scientific documents for publication, including writing and revising manuscripts for publication in high impact journals.

PhD in one of the natural sciences or related field or Medical degree
With PhD, no experience required. With Medical degree, two years of experience in experimental or scientific work.
