MD Anderson Cancer Center Research Data Coordinator - Infectious Dis&Inftn Ctrl-Rsch in Houston, Texas

Ideal candidate will have experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Coordinates patient care services for patients participating in clinical trials, under the direction of the clinical research staff.

This person will provide administrative, data, and patient care services for the coordination of clinical research studies. Assists Research Nurses in protocol management and regulatory reporting requirements

Key Functions

  1. Develops and maintains system for controlling paper flow for clinical protocols, including case report forms (CRF), regulatory binders, external adverse events, internal adverse events, clinic service requisitions (CSR), and blue tickets.

  2. Maintains information on shared Infectious Diseases Drive, to include scanned copies and/or files of:

Protocol

Protocol amendments

Investigator brochures

Blue tickets (Blank form and all completed)

Patient Visit Tracking spreadsheets

  1. Responsible for completion of case report forms and treatment records. Assist research staff with protocol activation, e.g. paper processing, ordering supplies, etc.

  2. Coordinate all research patient care services to ensure compliance with protocol schedule of assessments, to include the following:

Schedules patient visits, maintains physician and clinic templates for research patients per protocol

Processes accurate completion of charge capture activities, assists in the identification and authorization of managed care patients, and all other tasks as delegated by the Research Nurses

Interprets and coordinates physicians' orders to schedule diagnostic tests, procedures, treatments, and physician appointments

Collaborates with staff of principle investigators to maintain physician templates to ensure patients are scheduled within protocol track and timelines

Communicates appointment information to patients as well as any information regarding their schedule and the preparations needed for ancillary appointments

Responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times

Advises patients and family members of available services

Updates all demographic, as needed.

Completes Blue Tickets for each patient visit with patient care services that are to be billed to Research sponsor. Maintains database of scanned copies of all completed Blue Tickets on Infectious Diseases Drive for each protocol.

  1. Assist study sponsor monitors with data information during on-site monitoring visits,

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC FUNCTIONS:

a. Assists by inputting changes for protocol amendments into PDOL.

b. Maintains schedules for timely submissions of all grant data.

c. Assists in the preparation of information and reports for grant submission.

d. Acts as liaison with patients, families, physicians, and other personnel.

e. Assist with the randomization of patients, as requested

Other duties as required.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of related experience. May substitute required experience with completed years of college on a one to one basis.

Salary Range: $33,200 - $41,500 - $49,800
