Organize and perform technical laboratory duties.

Maintain and establish culture of human cell lines and patients’ primary tumor

cells. Have the ability to observe and identify cell changes under the

microscope, determine cell counts and cell viability. Prepare cells for cryogenic

storage and flow cytometry analysis.

Collect blood and skin biopsy samples.

Prepare sterile media and solutions.

In vitro treatment of cell cultures with different compounds, recombinant DNA, or

RNAi.

Isolate DNA, RNA, and proteins from cell lines and patients’ skin and blood

samples.

Prepare PBMCs and purify lymphocyte subsets by various methods and monitor

cells for proliferation and activation by standard laboratory methods.

Apoptosis detection and cell cycle analysis.

PCR and real time PCR instrument operation.

Immunoblotting, ELISA, and EMSA.

Gel preparation and electrophoresis.

Immunohistochemical staining.

Maintain good, detailed experimental records and analyze data.

Maintain accurate, detailed records and experimental data and protocols

Communicate results to principal investigator and colleagues. Ability to

communicate is essential.

Read literature and confer with principal investigator regarding new procedures

and modify them according to the needs of the project.

Discuss goals of each project with principal investigator. Develop a step-by-step

written procedure outlining the specific actions required to conduct the

experiment before proceeding.

Prepare graphs, slides, and tables via photography, computer, or manually.

Attendlab meetings and present data if necessary.

Work closely with other staff members.

Maintain good working relationship with other laboratory members.

Explain to staff members the scientific protocols currently being employed in the

laboratory.

Other duties as assigned.

Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences. Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
