Project Manager Opportunity in Division of Nursing

Ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field and three years of healthcare i.e., clinical, health informatics or information technology. Seven years of business experience which includes managerial/supervisory experience. Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Six Sigma and/or Scrum.

Salary Range: $69,900 - $87,000 - $104,400

SUMMARY

The primary roles of the Project Manager position is to direct multiple projects that span Nursing Administration, the Division of Nursing and nursing throughout the Institution, and to use expertise to execute routine and ongoing programs.

Management of projects and Ongoing/Routine Operational Initiatives and Programs

Project Collaboration and Partnerships

  1. Collaborates with Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Executive Director, Nursing Clinical and Program Directors, Division Administration and cross-functional team members to develop objectives, project plans and performance measures that directly affect quality improvement, patient and nurse satisfaction and operational and administrative processes.

  2. Sustain partnership with cross-functioning teams that are stakeholders in project completion, such as: Creative Services Department, Human Resources, Institutional Communications Department, Office of Performance Improvement, eLearning Team Facilities Management, and the Patient Experience Department.

  3. Partners with vendors, project owners, directors and business partners to ensure delivery of a total, functional system and/or completed project.

  4. Maintains professional and cooperative relationships with external professional organizations such as American Nurses Credentialing Center and Oncology Nursing Society.

Application of Project Management Methods

  1. Manages the implementation of project plans for the acquisition of international and national health care accreditations.

  2. Collaborates with nursing leadership team and essential stakeholders to assess, plan, implements and evaluate projects and programs for over 4,000 registered nurses and health care team providers across the institution.

  3. Develops and directs the preparation of industry standard project management (Project Management Institute), such as, charter, stakeholder rosters, Gantt charts for project scheduling and project decision making and monitoring tools. These tools provide effective management of large scale initiatives that impact the Division of Nursing and external divisions where nurses practice.

  4. Collaborates with project leader to align and manage key stakeholders, identify roles & responsibilities, and project tasks assignments.

Project Analytics and Discovery

  1. Conducts discovery for history, background, feedback and/or input to determine the current and future state of projects and program enhancements or development; thus providing the direction of the project.

  2. Performs data analytics for projects (e.g., survey results, financial data, and patient satisfaction data).

Project Communication

  1. Independently develops and provides professional and detailed project status reports that indicate progress, milestones and risks and challenges to be addressed.

  2. Develops project budgets and collaborates with finance team to provide funding information and assure adherence to budget spending guidelines.

  3. Communicates, clarifies, and enforces the timeline and tasks for each project in coordination with project leads and executive sponsor.

  4. Compiles and reports on data for operational needs both inside and outside the institution using the various data warehouses throughout the institution.

  5. Maintain membership in local, state, and/or national professional organization(s).

  6. Seeks out and learns new project management techniques and tools to enhance the work of the project coordinator.

  7. Applies new technology, when applicable, to help maintain proficiency as an effective and efficient project manager.

  8. Continually monitors project performance to apply discovery to future projects.

  9. Analyzes and evaluates operations and procedures as they relate to current and future projects.

  10. Participates in professional development in the form of conferences.

  11. Other duties as assigned within the scope of project or program management.

Browser-based technology

  • Develop a collaborative document management platform for each project with the use of Microsoft SharePoint and The Box.

    Project Management Software

  • Develop project schedule, resource allocation and change management

    Microsoft Office

  • Create charts and project schedules utilizing Visio, Publisher, Project, and Access

  • Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint

    Workflow Software

  • Develop workflow diagrams in Share Point and or Visio as needed to depict current processes, identify gaps in process and generate new processes

    REQUIREMENTS

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. May substitute required education with additional years of experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred Education: Master's degree in Business Administration or related field

Required Certification: Project Management Professional

Preferred Certification: Scrum, Lean Six Sigma

Experience: Five years of business experience with progressively more complex responsibilities. Three to five years in healthcare, i.e. clinical, health informatics or information technology.

Preferred Experience: More than seven years with business experience which includes managerial/supervisory experience
