MD Anderson Cancer Center Pharmacy Technician Inpatient (10:45 PM - 7:15 AM) in Houston, Texas

The primary purpose of the Inpatient Pharmacy Technician position is to accurately and efficiently prepare Sterile and Nonsterile Admixtures, fill unit dose medications via APS Robot and Pyxis MedStations, compound/repackage medications into unit dose products, and distribute/maintain medications and equipment for patient care units.
Hours for this position are: 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Unit Dose Processing and Distribution:
Accurately and efficiently fill unit dose carts and first doses
Accurately and efficiently pull drugs to refill controlled access cabinets
Accurately and efficiently deliver medications/supplies to designated areas
Sterile and Nonsterile Compounding/Preparation
Accurately and efficiently prepare all types of sterile products including SVP, LVP, chemotherapy, biotherapy and investigational agents
Accurately and efficiently prepare extemporaneous compounds
Repackaging bulk medications
Quality Assurance/Improvement and Project Management:
Completes all assigned Quality Assurance and productivity reports including record keeping and appropriate follow up.
Researches/monitors problems, initiates corrective action and follow through until challenge is resolved.
Consistently provides input/suggestions for process improvements.
Completes/maintains all Institutional/Divisional requirements for licensure, mandatory education and testing. Including but not limited to EEE, Infection Control, age related competency, Code Blue, TB testing, and IV process validation.
Develop, implement, and/or support special projects throughout the institution.
Maintain clean and organized work area at all times.
Order medications/supplies to maintain appropriate par levels
Ensure medication security and accountability
Monitors area inventory and supplies, notifies appropriate personnel when shortages and/or outages noted.
Other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).
Must pass pre-employment skills a test as required and administered by Human Resources

Midpoint Salary: US Dollar (USD) 41,500
