MD Anderson Cancer Center Pharmacy Business Systems Analyst (Inpatient) in Houston, Texas

Reporting/Analysis of Systems Data

Reviews routine daily, weekly and monthly Controlled Substance monitoring reports for compliance with Federal, State, and Institutional regulations and policies. Forwards information and requests additional follow-up from users and departmental leadership when necessary. Tracks and trends individual, unit, and departmental compliance as needed.

Systems Maintenance/Support

Responsible for updating and maintaining Pharmacy Information System Databases. Knowledgeable regarding the departmental work processes to ensure that systems contribute to optimization of patient care and ensure regulatory compliance. Responsible for documenting all required actions following change management control processes.

Project Management/Implementation

Leads new Controlled Substance Diversion Monitoring and related initiatives by providing subject matter expertise and leadership when needed. Works with areas to redefine workflow/process changes to improve compliance and outcomes with regulations and policies. Coordinates with Information Technology resources and clinical end-users to communicate and confirm system functionality and usage.



Bachelor's degree



Two years experience in domain, project management, workflow analysis. or Epic software. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis or completed years of college on a one to one basis

Preferred Experience:.

Reporting experience with control substances and undocumented waste.

Experience in healthcare, preferably with pharmacy systems and work processes.
