Patient Care Technician opportunities on our Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit

The Pediatric Intensive Care Services Position in our Children’s Cancer Hospital, is looking for candidates that are enthusiastic about family and patient-centered care and passionate about pediatric oncology care.

Patient Care Technician Position in our Pediatric Children’s Hospital, is looking for candidates that are flexible, enthusiastic about family and patient-centered care and passionate about pediatrics care. Our Pedi Intensive Care Unit is a 9 bed pod providing an inter-professional team approach to care for all pediatric patients including: Medical/Surgical Pediatrics Intensive Care Services consisting of Immune Effector Cell Therapy, oncologic emergencies, acute oncology surgical procedures, and supportive care.

Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years recent work experience. May substitute additional education for required experience a one to one basis. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources. Prefer one year of recent experience working in direct patient care.

Must be able to work 3pm – 11pm / 11pm – 7am / 7pm – 7am and 26 out of 52 weekends per year.

Salary Range: Minimum $28,800 - Mid-Point $36,000 - Maximum $43,200

SUMMARY

Function: Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.

Scope: Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

Essential Job Functions: Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.
