MD Anderson Cancer Center Patient Care Technician - Leukemia (G11E) - Day/Evening in Houston, Texas

G11E Leukemia is one of three units dedicated to the care of the acute/chronic and remission Leukemia patient.

Function:

Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.

Scope:

Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs.

Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs.

Updates and retrieves patient information.

Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.

EDUCATION

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

College hours in nursing or healthcare related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

Three years of relevant work experience.

May substitute additional education for required experience a one to one basis.

Preferred:

Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant.

OTHER

Required:

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
