MD Anderson Cancer Center Nursing Assistant - Ambulatory Treatment Center (ATC) 2:30pm-11pm in Houston, Texas

The Ambulatory Treatment Center, with 156 beds and 6 clinical sites, delivers infusion therapy needs for all of MD Anderson's specialty Centers. The ATC provides treatments for the adult patient population, 18 years of age and beyond.


The primary purpose of the Nursing Assistant position is to provide patient care and customer services as delegated. The Nursing Assistant affects patient comfort and outcomes of care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of work experience. Prefer candidates that are certified Nursing Assistants and have experience working in a hospital environment. Customer service experience in a healthcare environment is a plus.

Shift: 2:30pm-11:00p with rotating weekends and holidays

Job Functions-

Assists Nursing Staff Responsibilities include completion of routine patient care assignments as delegated. Accurately record vital signs and other data, report abnormalities to nursing staff.

Assists Patients Aids in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, greeting, rooming, and vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information in M. D. Anderson's computer-based patient record systems.

Work Environment Maintains environment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner

Stock and maintain unit and patient care supplies and equipment.

Effective Communication . Escalates significant events and concerns regarding patients and their care to appropriate nursing staff. Responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
