Manager, Advanced Practice Provider opportunity in the Anesthesia Assessment Center. The ideal candidate will be an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant with three years of clinical experience as an advanced practice provider and one year of supervisory experience. Prefer candidates with cardiology/surgery experience and three years of supervisory experience.

Salary Range: min - $118,000 mid - $147,500 max - $177,000

KEY FUNCTIONS

Administratively manages assigned advanced practice provider staff and operations and develops and administers policies and procedures. Responsible for operational and tactical planning, contributing to strategic plans, assessing related processes, implementing techniques to promote and improve the quality and continuity of patient care and evaluating aggregate patient data for the purpose of assessment. Develops and administers a strategic plan to manage advanced practice provider activity. Ensures that appropriate personnel are in place by developing and managing a staffing plan for the team. Develops and monitors staff compliance with education and training requirements.

Assigns rotations through procedure and fast track or other AAP clinics as well as outpatient physician clinics and/or inpatient service assignment. Reviews and assesses clinical needs and proposes restructure or creation of clinical services in both the planning and budgeting process. Reviews billing activity of clinical advanced practice providers for the purposes of compliance, distribution of effort and in comparison to budgeted activity. Remains current in clinical research practices and the department's research protocol priorities.

Assesses research protocols for acuity and/or patient complexity and plans for staffing and training needs. Directs advanced practice provider staff in appropriate methods for managing protocol-related assessment. Assures that AAPs function in accordance with federal and state regulatory standards and institutional policies and procedures. Ensures appropriate goal alignment of AAPs within department. May participate in auditing of clinical protocol activity to ensure the integrity of protocol management. Functions as a clinical advanced practice provider, as licensed, in a proportion appropriate for the team and approved by the department.

EDUCATION

Required: Degree requirements as defined by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) or Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (TSBNE), as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.

EXPERIENCE

Required: Three years of clinical experience as an advanced practice provider and one year of supervisory experience.

Preferred: Three years of supervisory experience . Experience in Cardiology and Surgery is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Required: All of the following:

Current license and/or certification as defined by the TSBPAE or TSBNE as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
