J OB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
P e r sonnel Leadership (Management) -Responsible for the administrative oversight of the department in consultation with the Section Chief, Director of DI Clinical Operations, Administrative Director and/or Department Chair to develop a strategic plan for patient care operations, allocation of resources, use of facilities and annual departmental and
staff goals and objectives.
-Demonstrates an understanding of both institution and division patient care, education, research, and prevention missions, strategic goals and objectives, staff team Anderson goals, and policy and procedures. Is able to explain and discuss with staff.
-Through personal example and actions, exhibits core values, and encourages and promotes teamwork across the department.
-Develops tactics to attain the goals and objectives stated in the division's strategic plan, operating budget and team Anderson goals. Sets team's objectives and delegate's implementation of tactics to supervisors as appropriate. Ensures supervisors and front line staff understands their role in support of the department's service goals and objectives
and how they align with the division and institution strategic goals.
-Manages department resources within budgetary guidelines. Manages staffing plans in support of stakeholder needs. Initiates recruitment needs based on staffing plan and budgeted expenses. Reviews vacant budgeted positions for necessity.
-Makes schedule capacity adjustments as needed. Develops and maintains scheduling template in coordination with hours of operation, staffing plans, reasonable time per procedure, and demand for services.
-Manages departmental personnel including, recruitment, hiring, comprehensive orientation, establishing baseline competency requirements, ongoing staff development, etc.
-Appropriately manages or delegates to supervisory level personnel or even staff level personnel the management of daily functions of the department and personnel if appropriate. Ensures completion of tasks.
-Ensures all performance evaluations and merit recommendations are completed in order to meet the timelines of institution's review program. Reviews employee merit ratings to determine appropriate distribution.
-Provides staff coaching, counseling and remedial training as the need is identified to ensure a successful, participating, productive and contributing team.
-Sets expectations for utilization of the institution's progressive disciplinary process as required and makes recommendations for termination if needed.
-Responsible for making provisions for excellent patient care and establishing patient satisfaction standards and expectations. Ensures efficient patient throughput and completion of procedures with a high level of customer service.
-Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Compliance: Quality & Efficiency -Ensures departmental compliance with rules and regulations of applicable regulatory agencies.
-Ensures consistent and equitable application of department, division and institutional
policies and procedures across the department.
-Ensures that all the Supervisors are acting in a consistent manner. Provides direction and coaching as appropriate.
-Ensures departmental and staff compliance to licensure, CPR, annual in-service and education requirements. Conducts audits periodically.
-Conducts an annual review of the charge master, develops new procedure charge structure and ensures all charges are inclusive of costs and in compliance with coding and reimbursement regulations.
-Achieves and maintains accreditation standards for specific imaging modalities if applicable.
-Actively participates in CQI, QA, CS&E and other team or workgroup meetings as delegated and able.
-Promotes an environment and culture of safety, quality and high service standards.
-Monitors and improves service delivery processes on an ongoing basis to include patient wait times, room/equipment utilization and staff productivity.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration or a related field. Five years in a related field and/or demonstration of progressively responsible management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must hold a valid Certified Medical Radiologic Technologists (CMRT) certificate issued by the State of Texas.
