Human Resources Assistant Onboarding – HR Talent Development

Summary

The HR Assistant – Onboarding assists with the effective onboarding of each new hire. Responsible for ensuring candidates comply with contingency requirements as specified in the position description and institutional policies while providing an excellent onboarding experience to all candidates, internal and external.

Ideal candidate must have a High school or equivalent and four years' of administrative, clerical or related work. Prefer recent experience working in a Human Resources department, HR Onboarding / New hire processes, Taleo and PeopleSoft systems.

SALARY RANGE: $38,800 - $48,500 - $58,200

Key functions

  1. Track and capture onboarding progression in Taleo Transitions for each new hire to include completion of new hire forms, hiring manager tasks, and required contingencies as per the position description

  2. Schedule and coordinate onboarding appointments to include completion of Employee Health requirements, institutional and federal documentation requirements, and educational, work history, and criminal background check clearance.

  3. Ensure that all new hires are properly moved through to the onboarding team by confirming background check requests have been correctly submitted and completed as indicated by required job qualifications.

  4. Assist with set up and coordination of the new employee orientation program, "Welcome to MD Anderson" to include preparation of welcome letters, registration rosters, and badge preparation and distribution.

  5. Maintain excellent working relationships with all onboarding partners which may include the VISA office, Medical Staffing office, Nurse Credentialing, UTPD, Employee Health, HR Service Center and Recruitment.

  6. Troubleshoot questions from new hires regarding onboarding process expectations, new hire and hiring manager Taleo Transitions access, and Taleo Recruitment/Transitions workflow steps.

  7. Other Duties as assigned

High school diploma or equivalent. Four years business or administrative experience. With preferred degree, no experience required. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
