MD Anderson Cancer Center Finance Manager - Financial Reporting and Accounting in Houston, Texas

The primary purpose of the Manager, Finance position is to manage and supervise departmental staff and required tasks. The Manager is responsible for the timely completion of the Annual Financial Report (AFR), the Monthly Financial Report (MFR), USAS annual reporting, Quarterly Expense report and any UT System or State required reports and related analytical tasks. Ensures compliance with UT System Reporting requirements, GASB, FASB, and all accounting rules and regulations.


Annual Financial Report:

Coordinate and assist in timely completion of the Annual Financial Report (AFR) and the Monthly Financial Report (MFR). Ensures compliance with UT System and Texas State Comptroller Reporting requirements. This includes performing review of all completed AFR exhibits before submission to Sr. Management for review. Conduct monthly meetings with external departments to effectively communicate issues or process changes that affect AFR and other state reporting.

Other State Required Reports:

Review and oversee the preparation of Quarterly Expense Report and Annual USAS reports. Liaison with UT System, Executive Director of System and State Reporting, and Texas State Comptroller to keep abreast of all regulatory requirements and changes as needed for AFR related and other external state reports. Responsible for the timely completion and submission of all surveys and special requests of the department.

Other Operational Activities:

Manage all aspects of the external reporting section of the Financial Reporting department. This includes overseeing FCRS (Financial Consolidation and Reporting System) reporting and maintenance, Nvision reporting, and PeopleSoft adjusting entries and analysis. Coordinate and oversee timely submission of all audit information requests including audit trial balances, PBC reports, and variance explanation requests as required for interim and annual external audit.


Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.


Required: Five years of professional experience in finance, accounting or related field to include at least three years of supervisory or project management experience.

Preferred: Seven or more years of supervisory experience in business or health care related field.
