MD Anderson Cancer Center Facilities Contract Specialist in Houston, Texas

Provide guidance and expertise in the development and administration of contracts within the Facilities Planning, Design and Construction (FPDC) department. Collaborate with FPDC teams to develop contract and Scope of Work documents and payment terms that comply with institutional requirements and best business practices for goods and services to be contracted. Work with personnel across the department to develop and implement processes and procedures that ensure contracts are implemented and services are rendered in accordance with contract terms and conditions, and that MD Anderson's obligations to service providers are timely and consistently met. Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures that ensure project contracts are administered in accordance with their terms and conditions and in manners that are adequate to safeguard institutional assets. Interface with MD Anderson Legal Services and Supply Chain Management with respect to matters related to developing and administering contracts, as appropriate.

Document lessons learned from audit findings and make recommendations related modifying procedures, contract terms and conditions, or some combination thereof to ensure project and project-related contracts are developed and administered in accordance with institutional requirements and best business practices.

Oversee and provide leadership to departmental personnel who are assigned to coordinate project procurement needs. Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to the preparation and processing of requisitions for goods and services needed to support projects.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Other duties as assigned

Required: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, architecture, construction management, engineering, or related field. Five years of experience with development and administration of contracts related to facilities or construction.
