MD Anderson Cancer Center Director, Research Medical Library in Houston, Texas

The Director for MD Anderson Cancer Center's Research Medical Library provides leadership to ensure alignment of its services and programs with the institutional strategy and priorities. The Director's role includes:

  • Strategic Planning and Development

  • Financial and Human Resource Management

  • Business Operations

MD Anderson's Research Medical Library provides knowledge-based information resources and specialized services to the faculty, staff and students and furthers the institution's integrated programs in patient care, research, education and prevention. Located in the heart of the campus, the Research Medical Library is central to the research, teaching and learning activities that help make MD Anderson the world-leading comprehensive cancer center for which it is known. Library staff members are active partners in assisting thousands of faculty members, students, residents and fellows as they conduct research, edit manuscripts and grants, teach courses, pursue answers and collaborate in Making Cancer History ®.

Requirements include:

  • Master's in Library Information Science from an ALA accredited program.

  • Ten years of experience in an academic medical center or a university library to include eight years of supervisory/management experience.

  • Scientific knowledge and IT proficiency preferred.
