MD Anderson Cancer Center Data Manager - REDCap in Houston, Texas
The Data Manager will be responsible for developing and managing computerized databases for multiple research studies. Responsible for researching overall concepts and executes objectives of programming projects and data processing systems. Responsible for data management and programming and all aspects of quality assurance for multiple research studies.
The salary range is min $ 52,000 mid $ 65,000 max $ 78,000.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
1. Database Management:
Develops and manages computerized databases appropriate to the design of various research studies, including participant tracking databases, grant status tracking databases, and computerized questionnaire delivery systems using various software programs.
Develops and maintains systems for transferring computerized questionnaire data to the format of various statistical programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS). Develops and maintains systems for the coding, editing and computer entry of data for assigned research studies.
Designs and maintains management reports on the databases for various research studies.
Develops and maintains systems for study projects in RedCap.
2. Database Quality Assurance:
- Responsible for Quality Assurance checks on various studies and various datasets (e.g., Access, RedCap). Studies and modifies existing software programs to solve specific problems and generate specific reports. This will include generating reports from MD Anderson databases for PI's. Assists with descriptive and exploratory statistical analyses.
3. Data Entry:
- Performs and assists in the entry of research data into computerized databases. Create queries and reports using databases from various projects as requested.
4. Other duties as assigned.

Required: Bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
Required: Five years of experience in database design and management. With preferred degree, three years of experience is required. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Experience in behavioral science or cancer prevention research. Experience using REDCap to develop and manage databases.
