MD Anderson Cancer Center Counselor Behavioral Science in Houston, Texas
Provides psychological and psychoeducational interventions for behavioral clinical research protocols. Impacts Behavioral Science Clinical Research protocols.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Intervention Delivery Instructs and leads psychological and psychoeducational interventions as set forth in research protocols in person or via videoconference. This includes assisting in developing and modifying interventions to fit within a research study model. Assess or evaluates the patient prior to and throughout the intervention. Travel to MD Anderson satellite centers to teach classes to participants being treated in these satellite centers may be required in the future.
Data Collection and Patient Safety Provides intervention to patient as deemed appropriate. Prepares written reports, sessions fidelity checklists, progress notes and other intervention documentation. Ensures a safe environment, maintains equipment and supplies in a clean, operable and safe manner. Follows institutional infection control policies. Schedule patients for their intervention sessions and ensure compliance. Collects questionnaire and objective physical performance data. Records and download intervention sessions for quality control measures. Conducts follow-up phone/video calls of participants . Ensures a safe environment, maintains equipment and supplies in a clean, operable and safe manner, and follows institutional infection control.
Intervention Development Assists in developing research study protocols as related to the psychological and psychoeducational intervention. Collaborates with appropriate faculty and staff to conduct research in various populations to study mind/body interventions. Meets with clinicians to discuss feasibility, logistics and overall conduct of research studies.
Required: Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, related counseling degree or Social Work.
Required: One year of post-masters related counseling experience.
Preferred: Experience working with medical populations, families/couples.
Required: One of the following: *Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) issued by the state of Texas. *Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the state of Texas. *Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) issued by the state of Texas. *Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) issued by the state of Texas. *Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) issued by the state of Texas.
Preferred: LCSW, LPC, LMFT.
