The Coordinator, Patient Services position in the Gynecology/Radiation unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center coordinates and schedules patient appointments, and has a direct impact on patient care services.

Gynecologic radiation is a 25 bed unit that provides care for patients of all ages. We care for gynecology, thoracic, head and neck, ophthalmology, and pediatric patients receiving their radiation treatments and gynecological surgical and medical oncology patients. We are also the designated overflow for the Stem Cell Transplant service, and patients with hematological cancers also receive care on this floor.
The hours for this position will be 3pm-11pm, 7pm-7am, or 11pm-7am, with rotating weekends and holidays required.
Essential Job Functions:
Schedules provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments. Prepares and maintains daily appointment templates and/or patient records in One Connect. Communicates all pertinent information to families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas. Prepares patient materials and documentation according to established procedures. Collects co-payments and validates patient insurance and demographics. Updates payment and patient information Reconciles One Connect cash drawer on a daily basis. Performs validation of the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ).Ensures coordination of benefits and assignment of Hospital Account Record (HAR). Follows standard operating procedures for institution and center. Protects the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Salary Range: $28,800 - $36,000 - $43,200
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Completed Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
Required: Three years of relevant work experience. May substitute additional education for required experience on a one to one basis.
Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
