MD Anderson Cancer Center Coordinator, Lead Services - Radiation Oncology Clinic in Houston, Texas

The primary purpose of the Lead Services Coordinator is to coordinate daily front desk operations assignments and impact the patient care services.
Key Functions
Communication with patients/family and multidisciplinary teams Patient/Family Interaction:
a.Greets, orients and answers questions.
b.Advises patients and family members of available services.
c.Schedule patient visits, physician appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
d. Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, co-workers, and visitors.
Multidisciplinary Teams
a.Transcribe and coordinate physician orders
b.Communicates pertinent information regarding appointments, scheduling, and necessary preparations to patients, families, physicians, team members and other patient care areas whether in person, by mail, by phone, by online applications or secure messaging.
Uses effective customer service skills to meet the needs of patient family and staff.
Record Maintenance Prepares and maintains appointment templates and/or patient records electronically and/or manually as directed.
Updates relevant patient information in order to maintain an accurate patient record.
Responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Handles and processes a complex and varied series of documents and situations.
Notifies appropriate personnel of patient arrival and status, via Mosaiq and CARE/OneConnect
Schedule patient visits, physician appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments. Reconciles appointments in both Radiation Oncology scheduling systems.
Technical expert/supervision of PSC staff: As delegated, will supervise the clerical staff within the Center by providing front-line oversight to workflow, assignment, scheduling, charge capture
provide input in recruitment/selection, annual or periodic evaluations as well as in other disciplinary processes.
Functions as a technical expert and resource for the Center for the on-line scheduling system, charge reconciliation and other systems related to the work of PSCs in the Center.
Acts as role model for PSCs and supports center's senior management.

Education
Required: Associate's degree.
Experience
Required: Five years of relevant work experience to include two years in a in a project coordination/lead/supervisory capacity. With preferred degree, three years of required experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred: Previous healthcare experience preferred.
