Core and Lab Operations Serve as the pivotal contact between customers and the RPPA Core. Promptly address all customer questions and concerns via email, telephone, and in-person. Provide solutions or alternatives to customer problems and concerns. Balance customer needs with core service requirements. Coordinate submissions with customers to ensure correct and efficient sample receipt and processing. Ensure all sample submission documentation and samples meet core requirements. Record and track all pertinent information, including but not limited to, number and type of samples, type of sample processing to be completed, billing and account balance information, internal testing requirements, antibody validation, and study data, for all submissions and large studies using databases and spreadsheets. Foresee and address potential problems to prevent operational disruptions.
Coordinate components of the core and lab operations, especially concerning sample submission, procedural timeline, and antibody validation. Assist with managing maintenance and operation issues of the RPPA Core Service and lab. Work with core directors, and designated department representative(s) to assure correct practice of laboratory safety and universal precaution standards as required under institutional guidelines, including but not limited to ensuring proper maintenance of institutional regulatory records (safety manuals, MSDS, etc.). Provide support for strategy and policy development through the monitoring of core, laboratory and institutional systems. Ensure records are kept in accordance with state, institutional and study guidelines.
Core and Lab Resource Management Assist to inventory and order consumables and maintain appropriate stock required for execution of core and lab operations and projects. Assist to maintain a centralized collection of research materials, including antibodies, and relevant data information. Find replacement materials for discontinued products in a timely manner to ensure availability when needed.
Database & Website Management Manage FreezerPro and iLab databases for the core, and collaborate with clinical departments to record and track all samples. Optimize the configuration of databases to fit the purpose and needs for all core operations. Oversee operation of these databases, troubleshoot any problems, and provide support. Train core and lab personnel and provide oversight for everyone using these databases. Manage and update the Antibody Database.
Manage and update core websites and iLab pages, including the content, format, and data to ensure accurate information is available for customers.
Collaborative Research Projects and Contracts Collaborate with PI and internal and external research teams on large-scale projects (i.e. Adelson, and TCGA). Maintain contacts with other institutions participating in studies and coordinate all data. Coordinate all activities from sample submission to data management and billing.
Initiate and coordinate Service Agreements / MTAs, contracts, and protocols with customers and internal legal departments for core services and projects. Oversee and maintain contracts, Service Agreements/MTAs, and protocols, including specific requirements, timelines, budgets, and administration.

Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
Required: Five years of experience in scientific, research or clinical laboratory to include three years in a lead/supervisory capacity. With preferred degree, three years of required experience in a lead/supervisory capacity.
Preferred: Database management, service agreements (contracts) coordination and excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
