MD Anderson Cancer Center Clinical Nurse, Outpatient - Gynecologic Oncology Center in Houston, Texas

The Outpatient Clinical Nurse in the Gynecologic Oncology Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center coordinates and implements patient care across the continuum of care. They are accountable and responsible for providing quality, evidence-based patient care through the appropriate use of resources in collaboration with the inter-professional team, and acts as a patient and family advocate to uphold patient rights.

We offer sub-specialty clinics to meet the needs of all patients and the most advanced treatment options for gynecologic cancers, including radical trachelectomy and other techniques that preserve child-bearing ability and sexual function.


Transformational Leadership: Clinical Nurse must lead others (co-workers, patients, families, significant others) to where they need to be in order to meet the demands of their future care needs. Organizes and prioritizes work of the patient care team which include but is not limited to administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy agents, pump connects /disconnects, administration of antibiotic therapy, administration of IV fluids, rapid response to chemotherapy reactions/ emergencies, IV starts, etc.

Structural Empowerment: Clinical Nurse is empowered to problem solve in order to meet organizational and unit goals and achieve desired outcomes.

Exemplary Professional Practice: Clinical Nurse has a comprehensive understanding of the role of professional nursing in the institution that is demonstrated in the relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

New Knowledge, Innovation, and Improvements: Clinical Nurse is responsible for the integration of innovation and research based findings into daily patient care practices.

Empirical Quality Results: Clinical Nurse seeks solutions to problems inherent in our institution rather than creating work-arounds.

Salary Range: $56,000 - $78,500 - $110,000

Shift: Monday-Friday, day shift


Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.


Required: No experience required.

Preferred: Must have at least one year of clinical nursing experience. Two years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.


Required: Current State of Texas professional Nursing License (RN).
