MD Anderson Cancer Center Clinical Engineering Director in Houston, Texas

Plans, Develops, organizes and directs the institution's Clinical Engineering policies, programs, systems and services delivered by staff.

Clinical Engineering Support Coordinates the development and implementation of plans, procedures and tasks necessary to assure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, CAP and other regulatory bodies. Works collaboratively with Information Services to manage information flow between clinical equipment and Electronic Health Record.

Human Resources Direction Hires and makes the principal recommendation on the hiring of direct reports. Completes performance reviews and makes recommendations on promotions, salary and other personnel matters.

Monitors departmental training plans to assure that staff have proper training to work on assigned equipment. Assures that divisional and institutional training programs are implemented.

Fiscal Responsibility for the Department Coordinates budget preparations with facilities management and institutional budgeting procedures for the clinical engineering annual operating budget. Prepares recommendations for equipment replacement, operational expenses, and training. Exercises appropriate budget control procedures to manage expenses.

Reviews institutional capital equipment plans for major acquisitions and plans staffing and training as necessary to support maintenance on equipment.

Other Duties as Assigned Participates in various equipment acquisition committees as needed. Serves on various institutional committees to provide liaison between institution and clinical engineering. May serve as leader of committees or be active participant on committees such as institutional safety and sourcing.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Clinical or Biomedical Engineering or relevant field. Ten years of clinical engineering experience to include three years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
