G12 East is one of the primary Leukemia units, within the hospital, with half the rooms serving as Protective Environment rooms.
Sets strategic priorities and tactics in consultation with the Director of Nursing, or Clinical Administrative Director, to align with institutional and divisional strategic initiatives.
Responsible for the outcomes of care processes on assigned unit(s) including clinical quality, financial, productivity, throughput/efficiency and interdisciplinary team work.
Provides direction, guidance and developmental planning to clinical nurses and support staff.
Directs, delegates and oversees care delivery and work efforts to achieve and maintain excellence in nursing and patient care outcomes.
Promotes a satisfied, healthy work environment for the workforce by establishing a climate of growth, challenge and development for all staff.
Supports a high level of clinical competence and professional development for staff.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Six years of professional nursing experience with two years in cancer care.
Two years of management experience in the management of direct patient care activities.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
