Associate Director, askMDAnderson Clinical Services
Prefer candidates with a Master's degree. Degree requirements as defined by the TSBPAE or TSBNE, as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and CPR, BLS or ACLS certification. Eight years of clinical experience in oncology or complex medical care to include experience with telephone triage or discharge planning/education and four years managerial experience. This position requires flexibility due to after-hours clinical support.
FUNCTIONS: Plans, organizes and directs the day-to-day operation of askMDAnderson Clinical Services.
SCOPE: Impacts patient care and patient experience.
ESSENTIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Oversees clinical and service follow-up and after-hours clinical support. Manages all aspects of the clinical programs and initiatives within askMDAnderson. Ensures department operates within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Monitors resource requirements, quality and efficiency of operations. Develops and recommends improvements to systems, processes and procedures. Ensures compliance with quality standards as it relates to the care provided. Assures competency of all clinical personnel. Manages human resource activities include staffing, performance management and professional development. May function as a licensed and credentialed clinical advanced practice provider in a proportion appropriate for the clinical team and as approved by the clinical department. Participates in programs, initiatives and committees across the organization that support quality and patient/provider experience.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Required Master's degree. Degree requirements as defined by the TSBPAE or TSBNE, as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.

Experience Required Eight years of clinical experience in oncology or other complex medical care to include experience with telephone triage or discharge planning/education and four years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
Experience Preferred None.
Licensure/Certification Required All of the following:
Current license and/or certification as defined by the TSBPAE or TSBNE as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR), Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
May be Required:
Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.
Licensure/Certification Preferred American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
