The primary purpose of the Assistant Nurse Manager position is to assist in overall clinical operations, staff management and the coordination of patient care and customer service.
Clinical Care (50%)
Participates in unit based clinical care.
Transformational Leadership (20%)
Assists in preparation and implementation of unit nursing staffing, considering skill mix and patient care requirements.
Encourages and supports the integration of innovation and research based findings into daily patient care practices.
Actively participates in, assists and/or leads performance improvement projects
Empirical Outcomes (20%)
Provides support to nursing staff in problem solving to meet organizational and unit goals and achieve desired outcomes.
Exemplary Professional Practice (10%)
Trains, coaches and assists nursing staff to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.
Assists with orientation, training, and nursing staff development
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Three years of clinical nursing experience.
Successful completion of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center New Graduate Nurse Residency Program can be substituted for two of the three required years of clinical nursing experience.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
