MD Anderson Cancer Center Advanced Practice Provider Supervisor - LBJ Hospital (APRN or PA) in Houston, Texas

This position is located at LBJ Hospital in Northeast Houston. Ideal candidate will be a Licensed PA or APRN; will have two plus years experience as an Advanced Practice Provider and will be bilingual in English and Spanish.

MD Anderson provides cancer care at several convenient locations throughout the Greater Houston Area and collaborates with community hospitals and health systems nationwide through MD Anderson Cancer Network®.

MD Anderson's presence at LBJ includes Gynecologic Oncology, Medical Oncology, Colposcopy, Orthopedic Oncology, and Genetics. Clinics are open five days/week. The program currently has four Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The APP Supervisor will practice in the medical oncology clinic four days per week and will supervise the onsite MD Anderson APP team.

SALARY RANGE: $102,400 - $128,000 - $153,600


The primary purpose of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Supervisor is to supervise, plan and coordinate a clinical Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team for the Regional Care Centers. Impacts overall operations, staffing, operational planning, quality assurance and administration of activities and personnel that impact inpatient and/or outpatient clinical operations. This position will devote a minimum of 50% effort to direct patient care according to the Advanced Practice Nurse's or Physician Assistant's State of Texas clinical license. Travel between Regional Care Centers may be required.


Administratively supervises APP staff and operations. Supervises the day-to-day operations and procedures for the APPs at LBJ Hospital. Develops and administers departmental policies, procedures and ensures compliance with institutional policies. Ensures that appropriate personnel are in place by developing and managing a staffing plan for the team. Monitors staff compliance with education and training requirements. Assures that APPs function in accordance with federal and state regulatory standards and institutional and departmental policies and procedures. Ensures appropriate goal alignment of MLPs within department.


Required: Degree requirements as defined by the Texas State Board Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) or Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (TSBNE), as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.


Required: Two years' experience as an advanced practice provider.


Required: Current license and/or certification as defined by the (TSBPAE) or (TSBNE) as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
