ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides superior secretarial skills of a highly confidential nature for one Neurosurgery faculty member and other designated personnel within the Department of Neurosurgery. Responsible for varied and extensive duties which include typing, transcribing dictation, and maintaining selected departmental files. Requires considerable exercise of independent judgment, discretion, initiative and a basic knowledge of medical terminology and administrative procedures.
Provides general secretarial support such as scheduling meetings, dictation and transcription, typing of other documents, making travel arrangements for faculty and APNs, screening visitors and calls, taking messages, filing, maintaining inventory of office supplies, picking up and distributing mail and reproducing documents. Manage travel reimbursements for faculty. Maintains accurate calendar for Neurosurgery conference room. Maintains accurate and current off-site equipment forms as well as accurate loaner log for laptops. Scans and reconciles inventory of assets for the department. Serves as purchasing agent for various projects. Maintains inventory of office supplies on a regular basis. CV maintenance in FIS for Neurosurgery faculty. Maintain accurate call schedule on inside MDA website.
Minimum: $36,000 – Midpoint: $45,000 – Maximum: $54,000
Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Specialized training in secretarial skills (such as word processing and business).
Preferred: Bachelor's degree. Two years of formal secretarial training from an approved business or secretarial school.
Required: Four years secretarial experience including advanced secretarial duties.
Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
