MD Anderson Cancer Center Administrative Assistant, Global Business Development in Houston, Texas
The Administrative Assistant position in Global Business Development at MD Anderson Cancer Center will provide administrative support to the Project Management team.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who is highly organized and able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible for front desk duties, i.e. greeting visitors, answering the main telephone line, and showing visitors to conference rooms.
Maintain daily calendar of appointments, meetings, lectures and seminars for Project Managers.
Schedule and coordinate high frequency of committee meetings, local and national meetings and conferences.
Communicate effectively with all levels of professional staff to insure key individuals are present at meetings.
Prepare agendas and meeting materials for distribution.
Must be able to work independently with limited supervision and make decisions and resolve problems in the absence of supervisory personnel.
Facilitate arrangements for extensive travel.
Prepare and process Concur authorizations and travel reimbursement/expense forms.
Compose and manually type emails, memos, and prepare graphs, charts and spreadsheets. Transcribe and edit administrative correspondence and reports.
Receive, place, screen and transfer calls using appropriate telephone etiquette; respond to telephone information requests with courtesy, accuracy and respect for confidentiality.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with other departments closely associated with the department.
Coordinates special projects as assigned.
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
Required: Four years of administrative/secretarial experience.
With the preferred degree, no experience is required.
Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
