The primary purpose of the Accountant I position in Facilities Finance is to provide support for the processing and reporting of project cost items to facilitate the timely reconciling of project costs to ensure accuracy and consistency between the institutional general ledger and design and construction project sub-ledgers. This is accomplished by applying practical knowledge of and experience in accounting systems and practices to the process of project cost accounting.


Perform monthly project cost reconciliations to ensure accuracy between the institutional general ledger and design and construction project sub-ledgers. Assist in resolving problems or inconsistencies.

Process project cost items including requisitions, invoices, statements for services rendered and applications for payment. Assist in facilitating timely processing by helping to resolving issues related to project cost items by seeking and providing timely information as needed to secure required approvals from Accounts Payable, Asset Management, Facilities Management, Finance, and/or Supply Chain Management, when needed and as appropriate.

Assist with capital and non-capital project set-up and close-out, in the management and retention of project financial records, and/or other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $44,800 - $57,400 - $70,000

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related. One year of experience required with degree in Business Administration or related field. With a degree in Accounting, no experience is required. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
